The ULTRAponics GroTube is an entirely new, some say revolutionary, advanced growing system that can be used for either hydroponic or aeroponic growing methods, with or without it’s optional dripper system, with or without it’s flood (ebb and flow) capabilities, with organic or inorganic nutrients, indoors or out, basically whatever you want to do. The systems are highly modular, can be set up in a myriad of configurations, combinations and sizes.
It is entirely constructed of drinking water and food grade materials. It’s design and construction is the culmination of many years hard work and dedication to get everything exactly right. It’s manufacture is the result of it’s inventor/designer taking the risk, putting everything on the line and his money where his mouth is to get it into the marketplace entirely on his own. This equipment was meant to last for many, many problem-free years and should be the first and last equipment of it’s kind any grower should ever need. AND at a competetive price. Why? Because that’s what I would want for myself and would think everybody else would, too.
It all started in my attempt to get away from all of the inherent problems of the commercially available systems I was forced to use until I made the first prototypes by hand and then refined them over the course of more than a few years. The first thing that really bothered me about the equipment I was using was the rooting medium known as Rockwool. When I found out that stuff was an environmental and a biohazard, well, I didn’t want it in my house or around food I was going to eat. Not to mention what a stinky, smelly mess it was to clean up and dispose of after each harvest. It does it’s job well, but yuck. Did you know its fibre is similar to asbestos except that instead of being hook shaped with a barb like asbestos, it’s vermicelli shaped with a point at each end and causes similar health problems as asbestos? Along with the potential health and environmental problems with the rooting medium and its post harverst cleanup and disposal, the other problems I addressed were the clogging and overflow problems of the other ebb and flow systems and dripper systems. The ULTRAponics GroTube should never clog, either in the system itself or the optional dripper system, under normal use following the product information. The GroTube System and the optional dripper system are both over engineered, as they should be, to prevent clogging and overflows. The GroStands and LiteStands are made of ultra-sturdy and rust resistant steel channel and hardware. A system set up with our GroStand or LiteStand should never inadvertently collapse or get knocked over.
Other benefits include the fact that the GroTube System is nearly completely sealed. The benefit of this is when used outdoors the system will not collect rainwater, which in turn flows back into the nutrient reservoir and not only dilutes and wastes valuable nutrient, it also throws the pH off requiring frequent adjustment or complete replacement of the nutrient solution everytime it rains. When used indoors, this almost completely sealed system releases very little humidity into the growing area. This is particularly important in confined areas using high intensity growing lights. Humidity plus heat equals higher heat indexes. Remember: 100 degrees Fahrenheit with 100% humidity equals a 300 degree heat index. Plants can usually handle 100 degrees for a short period but 300 will kill them almost immediately. What would happen if suddenly your A/C failed with two 1000 watt lights blazing, your obsolete hydroponic system pouring humidity into the room and the air condition stops working while you’re out for any amount of time? Dead plants, that’s what.
Our systems do cost a little bit more than most, not a great amount more but more. This small amount more will save you a lot of money if you go out and buy one or more other systems trying to find one that actually works right, like I did years ago.
